ACT and HESI A2 Scores
– What is the minimum ACT or HESI A2 score I must have to be eligible for the program?
There is no minimum score required for the ACT or HESI A2 to be considered for the program. Applicants must submit a valid ACT composite score or HESI A2 score.
– Where do I need to send my ACT or HESI A2 scores?
– Where can I obtain my ACT scores?
You may contact ACT at www.ACT.org to obtain official scores. If you took the ACT in high school, it is possible the scores are included on your high school transcript.
– Where can I take the ACT or HESI A2?
– What happens if I have not taken the ACT or HESI A2?
Applicants who have not taken the ACT or HESI A2 will not be considered for admission into the program. This is a requirement for all applicants.
– Can I use my residual ACT score from another institution?
If the residual ACT score is from another Alabama Community College System institution, we may use the scores for nursing program application. The scores will not be used for other college purposes, such as being used as a placement score into an academic course. The scores must be submitted to Admissions and Records.
– How long does the ACT or HESI A2 test take to be scored?
-What is the latest I can take the ACT and guarantee the scores will be back in time for the application review?
We cannot guarantee scores will be back in time to be included in the application review if they are taken after February 1st.
– My previous college had my ACT scores. Will those scores be on my transcripts?
It is possible your ACT scores may be on your college transcripts, but most colleges do not include those scores on official transcripts. Check with Admissions and Records to verify your scores if you have any questions as to whether or not they were transferred.

Campus Choice
The Calhoun Community College Nursing Program admits a class at the Decatur Campus and Huntsville-Research Park Site each fall semester. You will need to choose your preference of campus, but you are not guaranteed a seat at your preferred campus.
We admit 160 students each fall semester: 112 students at the Decatur Campus and 48 students at the Huntsville-Research Park Site.
